Re: how to create a snapshot and a snapclone

By what way: CV-EVA, SSSU, BC-EVA, RSM?

For CV-EVA, I suggest you select a virtual disk and just hit the apropriate button at the top of the properties page. You get a nice web form that you need to fill out.

Re: how to create a snapshot and a snapclone

I understand what you said. The problem is not here.
in fact when the snapshot is created, it's not presented to the sever as a new file system.
So if i create a file system FS1 in a logicel volume and i do the snapshot as you said how to present this snapshot to the server.

there are commands like vgchange that i really don't understand the purpose.

Re: how to create a snapshot and a snapclone

Oh, I see. So the problem is with importing the volume group or changing the volume group's meta data, because it is presented to the same server as the original?

I remember this has been discussed here on ITRC, but at the moment I don't have a link handy and I am lacking time to look it up, sorry. I hope somebody else can step in and help.

Re: how to create a snapshot and a snapclone

Hi,

Just see the doc.

http://docs.hp.com/en/B9106-90008/vgchgid.1M.html

This is all you need to do to acive this.

Or on your local system do

#man vgchgid

Good Luck.
