Re: How to properly shut down & restart EVA
POWER ON
1, Switch on the SAN switches
2, Switch on the EVA Mgmt. Server
3, Power on the circuit breakers on both EVAs PDUs
4, Wait 5 minutes and check if all drive enclosures disks LED are up
5, Power on the Top HSV controller (master controller)
6, Wait for 10 seconds and power up the lower HSV controller
7, Check the OCP panel is showing the EVAs name and WWN
8, Launch the Command View EVA. If the EVA is not visible, click the discovery
If you dont still get the EVA, restart the Mgmt. Server
9, From Command View EVA check the array status to ensure that everything is
opeating properly.

Assuming you mean to power on the EVA after a power down, then no. You must physically power off and back on the various components.
You can however restart individual controllers, but I don't think that's what you're asking...
Cheers,
Rob

Re: How to properly shut down & restart EVA
The controller which gets powered on first at the time of initialisation is one method to force the designation of "master controller" status. So, by all means you can have a bottom controller as the "master" controller of an EVA. Again, I would concur with Rob's response - shutdown both controllers through CV-EVA and then physically power up the EVA as per previous response.
