How to remove WWID after unpresent a LUND. EMC Replication Manager.
Hi every one.
I being dealing with an EMC Clarrion CX4-240 and Replication Manager 5.3 with an HP-UX 11.31 server on a SAN environment.
Each time RM presents all the LUNS to the server, I got many times this message:
Mar 9 18:53:26 mls02 vmunix: Evpd inquiry page 83h/80h failed or the current page 83h/80h data do not match the previous known pa
ge 83h/80h data on LUN id 0x0 probed beneath the target path (class = tgtpath, instance = 11) The lun path is (class = lunpath, in
stance 77).Run 'scsimgr replace_wwid' command to validate the change
The message are not a problem at all, is time the OS "lost" with this. In our case a full hour.
How could I prevent this happend?. I would like to "clean" the old WWID. Is this possible?.
Thank you in advance!.
P.D. I am agree EMC RM should do a "PVREMOVE", but it seems they are not since the WWID's remains.

Re: How to remove WWID after unpresent a LUND. EMC Replication Manager.
Oh how I would like to clean out old WWID as well!
The WWID seems to always get saved in the HP-UX registry (/stand/krs/system.krs) even if you do a pvremove. I think that's the whole idea with checking the 83h/80h page.
If you are curious you can see the KR with these commands:
/usr/lbin/krs_print -r /escsi/lun/
/usr/lbin/krs_file_reader /stand/krs/system.krs
and compare it with
ioscan -C disk -P wwid
I have not found a regedit for HP-UX yet ;-)

Re: How to remove WWID after unpresent a LUND. EMC Replication Manager.
Thank you Michael... I am just loosing the faith about this.
As far I know the EVA disk have an option to "hold" the WWID between mount/unmounts, but the Clarrion doesn├в t have it yet.
Anyway, I├в ll be waiting for some solution to this problem.
