Re: HP EVA 6300/6400 shutdown and startup procedure ?
hi
what exacly do you need?
the best way to power down or shutdown is through command view because in this way
the controlller shuts down and the disk enclosures are powered down to.
when you startup you first have to power the disk enclosures and then the controllers.
power down or restart can also be done from the EVA front panel but then only the controllers shutdown and
you have to do it for each contrller not for the whole system.

Re: HP EVA 6300/6400 shutdown and startup procedure ?
Hi Giladzzz,
I need it to plan for Server room maintenance so rather than unplugging the power from the cord or leave it on the first time when the power has been restored, is there any steps by steps guide to follow ?
The Storage Array holds the LUN for many servers.

SolutionHi
if you are planing computer room maintanace you should folow these guide lines.
1) shutdown all servers connected to EVA. (leave command view server on)
2) power down EVA from command view this powers down controllers and disks enclosures
3) after that disconect the controllers power cords or switch off the power switch.
4) now you can switch off the rest off your computer room
when you finished maitanance
1) power up fabric switches and network switches.
2) power up command view server
3) power up storage starting from disk enclosures and then controllers
4) when every thing looks OK from command view you can start the rest of your servers.
good luck
Regards
