HP EVA and Cisco Fabric Manager

Because of the new cisco licensing requirements, you can only run the Fabric Mgr on one server, one instance at a time. This has be come a rather bothersome problem. And, unless you spend $4k for each switch you want to manage, your stuck with it. As I work for for local gov't, I am trying to stick to a no-additional cost solution. Is there any alternative fabric managers available to alleviate this issue?

What version are you running? 3.1(2a) doesn't have any such limitations that I've seen. We run it directly from our desktops. Often simultaneously.

Re: HP EVA and Cisco Fabric Manager

Since the Cisco Fabric Manager is proprietary there really is no other solution to this matter. You do however, have the FM_SERVER_PKG 120 day evaluation license. But after 120 days it will turn the feature off and you will not be able to use it. Maybe by then you can get the money to buy the FM_SERVER_PKG license.

Once it's in production it's all bugs after that.
