HP StorageWorks 8Gb Short Wave Fibre Channel SFP+ 1 Pack(AJ718A) compatibility

Putting AJ718A SFP in an HP StorageWorks 8/80 SAN Switch (v6.3.1b firmware) resulted in a port status of "mod_inv". According to hpsancompat.com tool it's not supported on that switch, although that SFP DOES work on HP StorageWorks SAN Director 4/256 even though it's not listed as compatible.

Should AJ718A work on 8/80 SAN Switch like it apparently does on the SAN Director?

Hi,

For 8GB Broacde Switces, we may need Brocade SFPs. AJ716A is the correct product number which is compatible with 8/80 SAN Switch

The Product AJ718A is also 8GB SFPs but these will be used for 8GB HBA as a pluggable SFP.

Again the same SFP will not work with 4/256 SAN Switch.
