Re: HPUX and Secure Path for EVA 5000 and EVA 6000
From the installation and reference guide for 3.0Fsp2 Page 14.
â ¢ Allows coexistence of Secure Path for Active-Passive disk arrays and Secure Path for Active-Active disk arrays on the same host
â ¢ Allows connectivity of Active-Passive disk arrays and Active-Active disk arrays through the same HBA

Re: HPUX and Secure Path for EVA 5000 and EVA 6000
Yes sure, this is fully supported!
See the SAN Design Guide (page 127 Table 62 in the aug06 edition)> HP-UX multipathing coexistence support on http://www.hp.com/go/sandesig
Here you will see that you will run the EVA5000 with SecurePath and you then have the choice to run the EVA6000 with eiter SecurePath or Pvlink or DMP.
Cheers
Peter

Re: HPUX and Secure Path for EVA 5000 and EVA 6000
Yes it is possible but only IF your EVA5000 is at VCS 4.X.
It may also be possible your EVA5K stays at VCS 3.X and on SecurePath 3.0F for active-passive (CPQswsp) whilst the EVA6000 uses SecurePath 3.0F for active-active arrays.
Another possibility - IF the EVA5K is at VCS 4.X, you need not install SecurePath at all and let your preferred path protection/multi-pathing software do its thing. These are VxVM DMP or PVLINKS on HP-UX systems.
Hope this helps..
