HSG80 CLI

New environment for me, Lost password for HSG80 (CPQWEBM) Open San Manger. Tried the default no go,I can get on to the appliance itself (via terminal server),but getting into HSG Element Manager is a no go, no one knows the password. Is there some way I can get to the CLI commands on the appliance itself to create raidsets etc? Thank you for your time.

Re: HSG80 CLI

What is the OS of the servers using this storage (not the management appliance)? If Tru64 Unix you can do the following:

# hwmgr -v d

Look for the Bus, Target, and LUN of the HSG80 CCL. Then

# /usr/lbin/hsxterm5 -b -t -l

This will connect you directly to the HSG80 and you can execute CLI commands

Re: HSG80 CLI

You can run HSG80 CLI commands directly to the controller, each controller has an serial connection, you connect the cable to the controller and to your computer serial port, you must have the correct cable. Then using hyperterminal or any terminal emulation software, configure the controller and raids.

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: HSG80 CLI

I haven't heard that the SMA offers a direct CLI access except through the HSG element manager.

If using the maintanance port or "hsxterm", then I strongly recommend to disconnect the SMA from the HSG - else, there is a risk that concurrent use can hang a controller!!
