I can't access to MSA1000 with KVM console Switch
I have an OpenVMS cluster, and a KVM console Switch (A2000R) to connect to the servers, but I can't connect to MSA1000 with the console switch.
MSA1000 has the "Compaq cable 259992-001 Rev. A", with a db9 serial female connector, and KVM an AVRIQ serial module with db9 serial female connector too. I've tried to user db9 male-male adpators, and other adaptors, but I not be able to access to MSA1000.
Anyone has the "Compaq cable 259992-001 Rev. A" specs? or the "Compaq cable 259992-001 Rev. A" pinout? or anyone knows how I can access to MSA1000 with the console switch?
Thank you,
Lluís

Re: I can't access to MSA1000 with KVM console Switch
Am not familiar with this KVM switch, but I DON'T think the serial port is for this type of operation. My guess is that this is the KVM switch's maintenance port which can be used for, e.g. firmware updates through an external PC.

Re: I can't access to MSA1000 with KVM console Switch
The MSA1000's maintenance port uses 19200 bps by default, not 9600.

Re: I can't access to MSA1000 with KVM console Switch
we have been investigating msa1000 cable pinout, AVRIQ-SRL cable (KVM switch) pinout, and adaptors pinout.
It seems db9 male-to-male adaptor not work because it does not crossing of signals RxD and TxD, because we have been testing it,
and if we do crossing signals RxD and TxD it runs ok.
So, we only need a db9 male-to-male adaptor with these characteristics. I'll buy it.
Thank you,
LluÃs
