IBM 3583 library connected to SAN switch is not visible
Hi,
my conf:
-Data Protector 5.5 on Win2000 srv
-IBM 3583 LTO library with SAN Gateway module
-SAN switch
If the library is connected by FC cable directly to win server, the server can see the library and backup-restore operations are well. But if I connect library and server to SAN switch, the server don't see the library. What do I need to do?
Thanks.

Re: IBM 3583 library connected to SAN switch is not visible
Have you created a fabric zone such that the Windows box is granted access at the fabric level to see your LTO library?

Re: IBM 3583 library connected to SAN switch is not visible
SAKET,
a fabric zone was created. But I'm not sure how to set the 3583 gateway module. The library was connected directly to host computer with FC cable until now. Now I want to connect both devices to san switch. Do I need to configure fibre channel port modes and connection options on gateway module?
port modes can be: target, initiator, target and initiator
loop: private or public
connection types: loop, point-to-point, loop preferred

Re: IBM 3583 library connected to SAN switch is not visible
I had to change the library setting. The problem solved.
