Is JNI FCA supported by SecurePath for Solaris
Hi,
I have this SunFire 6800 which with 2 FCA's:
JNI Fibre Channel Adapters
Driver: JNI 1560 Fibre Channel controllers (64-bit)
I need to connect it with EVA-5000 Storage and enable Secure Path on sunfire. SecurePath 3C doc says its compatable with only the following FCA's:
DS-SWSA4-PC 32-bit PCI, single 1-Gbit port
DS-SWSA4-SC 64-bit Sbus, single 1-Gbit port
FCA-2257S 64-bit Sbus, dual 1-Gbit ports
FCA-2257C 64-bit cPCI, dual 1-Gbit ports
FCA-2257P 64-bit PCI, single 2-Gbit port
Please tell me if anyone has faced this situation that will JNI FCA work with SecurePath ???
Attached is a file which shows details of JNI FCA's driver package details (installed)

Zeeshan,
It's true, JNI FCA's won't work on the SunFire boxes. Sorry for the bad news.

Re: Is JNI FCA supported by SecurePath for Solaris
Hi Zeeshan,
I have successfully used JNI 1063 HBA's in SunFire 4800's and 480's. However, in 280's I would receive PCI Master/Target abort messages at random - was not seen by the applications. I contacted AMCC - they purchased JNI - and here is what they said:
"PCI Master/Target Abort message is a known issue with FCI-1063 and some Sunfire system. The FCI-1063 was never tested with the Sunfire servers because the product was EOL'd before the Sunfire servers were in the market. Since the product is EOL'd there are no plans to make any changes to existing drivers."
SecurePath 3.0D does include a new JNI driver for Solaris 9 - since the Platform kit is now included with SecurePath - however the above conditions still apply.
I switched to the Qlogic 254456-B21 HBA's in the production systems - Development still have the JNI's.
