MBR or GPT Disk

I have setup my volumes on my SAN. Is it best to initialize as MBR or GPT on the server?

HMUSER,

 

That depends on the size of the LUN you intent to present to server. If it is larger than 2 TB, then you don't have choice, as MBR cannot be such large. If you use large GPT disks to boot GNU/Linux systems from it, keep in mind, that you probably need to create special partition with a type Legacy BIOS, where bootloader (GRUB) will be located. Windows seems to be able to boot from GPT only with UEFI motherboards.

We wont be booting any systems so will go with GPT for future expansion.
