Migrating ASM DG from One SAN Storage Array to another Array
I am looking for advice or "Best Practices" on migrating Oracle ASM DG from our Hitachi to the new EVA4400 SAN Storage Array.
Oracle 10g
ASM DG: 4
Linux RedHat 4.0
LVM

Hi,
see this thread (linux/hpux lvm links) for the reference.

It should be done via the LVM mirroring - EVA vdisk addition to existing ASM VGs for mirrors. When done, redirect the paths to the EVA mirrors only and then split the mirror/reduce the Hitachi LUNs from the mirror...

You should always backup your system before attempting a pvmove operation.
