Migrating ASM DG from One SAN Storage Array to another Array

I am looking for advice or "Best Practices" on migrating Oracle ASM DG from our Hitachi to the new EVA4400 SAN Storage Array.

Oracle 10g
ASM DG: 4
Linux RedHat 4.0
LVM

Please advise

Thank you.

Re: Migrating ASM DG from One SAN Storage Array to another Array

Hi,
see this thread (linux/hpux lvm links) for the reference.
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1279583

It should be done via the LVM mirroring - EVA vdisk addition to existing ASM VGs for mirrors. When done, redirect the paths to the EVA mirrors only and then split the mirror/reduce the Hitachi LUNs from the mirror...

or

via pvmove
(see the
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/
Common tasks/Recipes sections)

NOTE
You should always backup your system before attempting a pvmove operation.
