Missing Drive Space When Expanding Logical Drive

I've got something a little weird happening. I have an array setup on our MSA1000 as RAID5. It currently has 4 72.8 GB drives in it and the ACU shows the logical drive with a capacity of 208390 MB.

I added two additional 72.8 GB drives and expanded the array. It is now also showing 166716 MB of unused space.

I would think that when I expand the logical drive, I should have around 375106 MB. However, when I try to expand the logical drive, it will only let me go to a maximum of 261116 MB.

I'm losing over 100 GB!!! What am I missing that it will not let me expand the logical drive the full amount?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Missing Drive Space When Expanding Logical Drive

Currently we're using 6.45.1.0 of the ACU.

Thanks.

Re: Missing Drive Space When Expanding Logical Drive

Now, I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not, but on the logical drive, the stripe size is 64KB.

However, losing over 100 GB still seems like a lot.

Thanks.

Re: Missing Drive Space When Expanding Logical Drive

Unfortunately, there's a known issue that prevents your logical disk size from increasing over 261116 MB. Review this article from HP:

To recover, I believe you have upgrade to the ACU included with PSP 7.4.
