MPIO Basic failover with MSA1000 Active/Passive
We have 1 MSA1000 Firmware 5.20 in A/P config with 2 controllers, 2 2/8 switches and 2 HBAs per server (4 servers: 2 are Windows R2 x64 and 2 Windows 2003 none of them are clustered).
I have installed MPIO Basice failover 1.40 software and it shows as "Multi-Path Support" in device in Device Manager.
In one server I have presented the LUN to both HBAs and can see the drive in Disk management as E: and also the same drive repeated and not initialized.
My doubts are, how is the fail over supposed to work?, I have tried unplugging the HBA connected to the switch in the Active controller and expected a fail over to the Standby controller through the other HBA connected to its switch and I have also tried by pulling out the Active controller but I don't get anything
What am I am doing wrong?, how does the fail over work in this type of configuration? What else do i need to do?
Please somebody help!

Re: MPIO Basic failover with MSA1000 Active/Passive
MartinS: Yes I did
Yaqub: I have firmware 5.20 on both controllers which only handles A/P configurations, I'm not trying A/A yet.
