MPIO + MSA LUN shows up twice
Is this something wrong or is it by design. When doing MPIO against EVA5K the driver hides the "shadow paths" to the LUN but not against an MSA. In Disk Manager the LUN shows up two times but it is only one of them that I am able to partition and format?
My setup is:
W2k3 SP1, MPIO 1.1 for MSA, MSA1000
W2K3 SP1, MPIO 1.0 for EVA, EVA5K
My setup is:
W2k3 SP1, MPIO 1.1 for MSA, MSA1000
W2K3 SP1, MPIO 1.0 for EVA, EVA5K

Re: MPIO + MSA LUN shows up twice
Something is wrong. When using MPIO 1.1 for MSA, it should only present the LUN only once in Disk Manager. What type of HBA driver are you using (i.e. Qlogic/ Emulex) and what driver version?
To test, I recommend uninstalling both MPIO software and reboot. Install the MPIO 1.1 for MSA. Check to see if the disks show up only once in Disk Manager. Then install MPIO 1.0 for EVA. See if you start seeing double again.

Re: MPIO + MSA LUN shows up twice
This is two different servers, one with LUNS on my EVA and accordingly with MPIO for EVA, the other one has LUNS in a MSA1000 and runs MPIO 1.1 for MSA. I will check my driver versions and post them here.
