Re: MPIO support for RHEL4U4 IA64 with EVA6000
It clearly mentions that Multipulse does not provide failover capabilities and relies on 3rd party software to provide failover capabilities. So the real question is: Will LP1150 Mutipulse HBA and MPIO from RHEL4U4 IA64 Kernel together - Are they supported by HPQ with the EVA 6000 array? Do they have a validated configuration around the above? Thanks.

Solution ID: 12059
Does the Emulex driver for Linux provide failover capabilities?
Description:
Will MultiPulse provide failover capabilities in the current version of the Emulex driver for Linux?
Resolution: 1 of 2
Emulex does not provide failover capabilities out of the box. Failover is usually handled by third party applications that rely on information from the SCSI layer to failover paths. Emulex does offer MultiPulse but MultiPulse is an OEM product for third parties to provide failover capability and will not operate without third party software.

Re: MPIO support for RHEL4U4 IA64 with EVA6000

Re: MPIO support for RHEL4U4 IA64 with EVA6000
we're using RHEL4U5 2.6.9-55.ELlargesmp, qlogic ql24xx driver, and EVA system 8000 with fw CR0EB0xcsp-6100 configuration. We're also using md devices to create RAID1 to 2nd EVA system to have active mirror.
multipathing is managed by dm-multipath module form kernel and rpm packages are:
device-mapper-1.02.17-3.0.1.el4
device-mapper-multipath-0.4.5-21.RHEL4
