MSA 1000 and HPUX
Hello:
I am facing an strange problem with an MSA 1000 connected with two HPUX 11i systems. We have two 2/8 Brocade switches, when one system is connected to one switch it works perfectly but as soon as we connect the other system to the second switch all stop working and these messages appear in syslog:
-----
Aug 3 12:03:41 mx vmunix: LVM: vg[3]: pvnum=0 (dev_t=0x1f050000) is POWER
FAILED
Aug 3 12:03:41 mx vmunix: LVM: Path (device 0x1f050400) to PV 0 in VG 4 F
ailed!
Aug 3 12:03:41 mx vmunix: LVM: vg[4]: pvnum=0 (dev_t=0x1f050400) is POWER
FAILED
Aug 3 12:03:41 mx vmunix: LVM: Path (device 0x1f050500) to PV 0 in VG 5 F
ailed!
-----------------
Driver version is 4.48 and the systems has been recently patched. Any idea?
Regards.

Re: MSA 1000 and HPUX
Sounds like you have an MSA1000 with two controllers, each controller is connected to one FC switch and you have each server connected (single path) to a different switch.
That isn't supported and it cannot work!
For now, you only have single-path (1 controller) support with HP-UX and the MSA1000.
