MSA 1000 inter-controller link has failed

does somebody know what event ID 24640 in the system log is telling?

Array Controller \Device\FibreArray5, HBA Slot 5, Chassis: GB204150HP is no longer redundant because the inter-controller link has failed. The standby array controller has been marked as failed.

Do I have an hardware issue inside the msa enclosure here? I still suffer from unpredicted secure path failovers.

The inter-controller link connects the 2 RAID controlelrs in the storage system to provide a path between them so that they can mirror the write caches, and also do other communication between the controllers.

Although failures of this link are rare, they can happen. If that is the case, then you probably need to replace the failed controller.

however, before you do that, please check the error messages on the front LED panel of each controller. You may be able to re-sync the controlelrs by pulling them out and re-seating them. Before you do that, look at pages 41-42 of this document for more information:
