msa 1500 vs msa 2000 fc
Hello.
Scenario : 10 disks 300 giga each
on MSA 1500 I could create LUN0 with 500 GB capacity RAID10 over 10 disks, then LUN1 with 500 GB capacity RAID5 over 10 disks, and so on and so on .... In short, I could mix raid levels on same disks.
On MSA 2000 I can't do that. When I create vdisk, i must select whole drive so in this case, if I take 10 disks I can only choose raid 5 or raid10 on whole bunch of disks.
Is there something I may be missing ?
Thanks in advance,

You are not crazy. Thats the way the MSA2000 works. RAID redundacy at the VDISK level vs. MSA1000 at the LUN level.
