MSA1000 on Netware server.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to add extra disks to my MSA1000 which hangs off of a Netware 6 server.
I get conflicting info when reading the documentation.
Some info suggests I can use the ACU-XE (but I can't find it).
CPQONLIN only shows the SMART-s array controller, not the MSA1000 controller.
Other info suggests that the server must be OFFLINE to alter the array size.
Can anyone help please?
thanks.
Katrine.

Re: MSA1000 on Netware server.
Hello Katrine,
If you have only Netware on your MSA1000 than you must use the array utility offline for one Netware server (also on MSA1000 boot cd).
If you have also 1 Windows server connected to the MSA1000 you can use the ACU-XE.
With regards,
Otto

Re: MSA1000 on Netware server.
You should be able to use the cqqonlin.nlm utility from HP. I have done this several times in the past and you should be able to see the MSA controller from there. I you can not see it, I'm pretty sure that you are using an outdata version.
However I do recomend that you boot on the MSA support cd instead. The text-based cpqonlin.nlm might be a bit confusing if you are unfamilliar with it.

Re: MSA1000 on Netware server.
Thanks for the advice folks.
I have been able to expand the array now after getting the bootable MSA config CD.
Have also updated our version of cpqonlin, and I can now see the MSA1000 from there also.
