Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
Is there a way to ensure that the caches etc. on the MSA1000 are flushed and the unit is ready for poweroff?

Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
What you are seeing is the Surface Scan running. If you notice the bottom right row of LED. If all three a lit then, the cpu isn't doing anything.
If you use the cli, you could use the
>show this_controller
This will report any unsave data in the cache.

Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
if you have a 'special' serial cable for MSA, you can do a miracle ;-).

Mario.

Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
* Controller:
* MSA1000(c) Compaq P56350C9Ixxxxx Software 4.24 Build 272 Hardware 7
The MSA CLI implements only the barely necessary commands to set it up from the serial port.

Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
On the HSx if you have a disk configured and it goes bad you get a disk misconfigured message when you do a SHOW DISK. On the MSA1000 the disk no longer shows up. If this can be more like HSx controller then so much the better.

Re: MSA1000 safe poweroff?
Good answer is: Make sure, that all host systems are correctly closed.
