MSA1500 Blades - And Windows 2003

Hi there i have the follow configuration :

MSA1500 - 2 controllers

Several Machines 2 HBA

Windows 2003 with Multipath / MPIO installed

2 - Brocade switchs

And when i turn off 1 switch or disconnect a cable the machines crash because they lose connection to the fiber.

The Stupid part is when i power them up with just one fiber path they start to work ok.

i put the 2 paths on they are working trun of one they crash.

wierd any one got any ideias ???

Best Regards

César:

Can you supply us with a wiring diagram of how everything is connected? It sounds to me that perhaps you have a fibre cabling issue and I would like to get a better understanding of your whole situation.

Re: MSA1500 Blades - And Windows 2003

Its easy.

2 - Brocade Switchs

2 HBA per machine

1 MS1500 with 2 controlers and 2 I/O modules

1 I/O to 1 Brocade switch

1 I/O to 1 Brocade Switch

1 HBA - Switch1
1 HBA - Switch2

Typical SAN configuration with Failover.

Re: MSA1500 Blades - And Windows 2003

Are the 2 switches connected to each other with an ISL?

I can not see how server 5 or 6 will work properly with only 1 connection. One of the servers at any given time will NOT have proper access to the MSA.
