MSA1510i and MS Clusters
Hi, normally I use the Packaged cluster MSA500 G2 + 2x dl380, but as they are end of life my HP supplier mentioned the MSA 1510i.
could you please let me know if clustering is possible with 2 x DL380 in an active/passive role with the 1510i. this would be used for Exchange 2003.

Re: MSA1510i and MS Clusters
No, MSA1510i is not supported in cluster.

Re: MSA1510i and MS Clusters
I have a couple Windows 2003 clusters using our MSA 1510i.
I don't know if it's "officially" supported or not, but fact is, it works like a champ.
Our config is:
MSA 1510i
4 MSA30 units
2 of the MSA30's (mix of 146 and 72 drives) are shared in an active/passive SQL 2000 cluster.
The other 2 MSA30's are fully populated with 300GB drives and are in a 4-node SQL 2005 cluster (3 active, 1 passive).
All works great, no worries.

Re: MSA1510i and MS Clusters
Microsoft does not recommend or support (officially) Exchange clustering with iSCSI.
See this document for recommendations if you want to pursue this path.

However, an MSA1500cs or MSA1000 running fiber-channel are fully supported for clustering pretty much anything ever made. They are excellent scalable units with quite high performance.
