MSA30 - partition becomes inaccessible for no reason
We already fixed the problem, but we are not sure what caused the problem. Let me give you little more detail on the issue. We created two partitions on the SAN for two servers. One partition is 200GB and one partition is 700GB. The 200GB partition works beautifully on one of the servers, never has any problem. The 700GB partition works great most of the time. Sometime the partition became inaccessible for no reason. It usually the drive became inaccessible after we rebooted the server. The only way to fix this was to do the checkdisk on the drive, using DOS command. This process takes about two hours due to the size of the partition. After the checkdisk completed, we have to reapply the security rights on the files and folders. The servers are running windows 2000 server. Anyone seen this problem before?
