Netware multipath or secure path
First off, is secure path free with purchase of the EVA3000 we got 2 copies of secure path for windows but not netware.
So I've been trying to get novell's multipathing software to work on the netware box which again in netware 6.5 sp3 or OES netware.
Both hba's are loaded at boot and startup.ncf has
SET MULTI-PATH SUPPORT = ON
both hba's are loaded with
/luns /allpaths /portnames
When I look at each adapter under manage hardware only one sees the controller the other sees nothing.
When I go to storage> devices> it only shows the raid array on the blade and the hba that see's the controller, and multipath is greyed out.
So what do I need to do to get netware's multipath working or will I have to buy hp's secure path?
Thanks
Mark

Re: Netware multipath or secure path
You might be able to trade in your Windows versions if you haven't opened them or installed them anywhere yet.
Good luck,
Vince

Re: Netware multipath or secure path
Options:
1. Buy SecurePath for Netware
2. If you have not deployed the EVA3000 yet you can have HP to upgrade the array to VCS 4.xxx. With VCS4.xxx the EVA3000 will change its behaviour to active-active LUN presentation and then support the NW built in multipathing.
Cheers
Peter

Re: Netware multipath or secure path
You need securepath for a supported environment.
See EVA3000 Quickspecs

Re: Netware multipath or secure path
The QL2300 drivers are being loaded with /LUNS /ALLPATHS /PORTNAMES /CONSOLE /QUALIFIED
Has something changed with NW 6.5 SP4+ that now supports multipath?? Or am I missing something?
