Re: NSR's keep rebooting themselves

Hi.
There are any Linux server in the same switch zone than the NSR?
I´ve got the same problem with Linux servers and FC 4/1 4450 NSR.
I think that the Qlogic card is sending bus reset and causing the NSR reboot.
This is only with Linux servers and another NSR model.
I hope to help you.
Bye.

Re: NSR's keep rebooting themselves

Chris, are you sure that RSM is disabled on ALL windows hosts that can access the NSR?.
Just a single host with RSM enabled can kill all NSR's.
RSM=Removable Storage Manager.

Re: NSR's keep rebooting themselves

Hi Thanks for your response. You were right about the RSM, but it was disabled on all the servers. The problem still happens even if they are disabled. In order to resolve it I had to Enbale, start and stop the service, and then disable it, but as soon as the server is rebooted it starts sending out a TUR request even though the RSM is disabled. There is a Reg key that needs to be put in to fix it. If you look on MS support site, and search TUR its the first link it finds.

Thanks Again

Re: NSR's keep rebooting themselves

Chris,

Be sure you are NOT using the HPLTO.sys version 1.0.3.1 as that one has the autorun=1 in the .INF file and will start the TUR's over and over, even if you alreday had disabled it with that registry setting.
Use the previous one 1.0.3.0 thats one is ok.
