/opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
The process consumes 100% cpu during a short runtime and the nobody can work on the system.

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
I have seen this yet with commandview.
It is no problem to kill this process.
I don't know if you have the latest version of commandview? Otherwise an update is advisable

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
Please provide output of:
root# swlist|grep -i storagework
The host agents should only be CPU busy on short occasions although I must admit - it can be a resource (memory and cpu) hog.

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
Have a look at this page:
http://h18012.www1.hp.com/java/patches/index.html
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
@Nelson: I use StorageWorks CommandView SDM 1.09.00, the newest version.
@Torsten: Patching java makes no sense, because sanmgr uses its own java runtime, as you can see in the first posting of Olaf.

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
I´ve found my own solution. First I´ve checked with hpjconfig the kernel parameters for java using and then implemented the patch PHKL_32927. After this the memory consumtion is normal.

Re: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/PA_RISC2.0/java
To patch the java env is recommended in the commandview userguide (see link above to get the patches) and *will* be helpful.
BTW, the latest version is 1.09.01.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
