Over 10KM Distance Functionality
I have moved the remote EVA to the same room of local EVA, I've bought two GBIC's of 30KM Long Wave. When I'm testing the communication between two switches with a single-mode cable I see the ports in both switches turn into E-PORT but I can not see the other EVA from the SAN Manager server.
I know that I need the Extended Fabric license, but what I need to know is if there is something else I should consider?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Over 10KM Distance Functionality
here in the SAN design reference guide you could find all needed info:

Re: Over 10KM Distance Functionality
a)first you need to play with the:
portcfglongdistance command
and try the LD setting which is automatic long distance config...
on the longwave cable interconnecstion.
b) then if they are ok
fabricshow to see if you have both switches in the fabric
c) then you can zone the eva and the hosts

Re: Over 10KM Distance Functionality
But when I connect it with 30km GBICs the communication is broken.
When I use the 30KM GBICs I can see both switches in the fabric and both ports are connected well.
