Performance Advisor 3.4 new install - no raid groups and nothing from one array
I have installed Performance Advisor 3.4 on a new server to replace a 3.3 installation on an older server. I am starting fresh.
I have uninstalled the 3.3 agents from 2 servers, rebooted them and then installed the 3.4 agents.
Both servers have 2 command devices. One server in one datacenter has 2 command devices on the array in that datacenter. The server in the other datacenter has 2 command devices on the array in the other datacenter. Both command devices are on different CL ports on the array and I see them as command devices when I run XPINFO.
When I installed the 3.4 agents I pointed them to the 3.4 server using IPv4. Both hosts show up in the Host Information tab of the Configuration page. Both hosts are updated as of today.
First problem: On one host, I enabled configuration collection using one of the command devices that it sees on the local array. When I look in Array View for this particular local array, I see the correct model, serial number, microcode, rmlib versions. I also see the current date/time for DKC Time and Port Time. Raid Group Time is stuck on Dec 31 1969 7:00:00 PM. When I create a Performance Data schedule against this host for this array, I use both command devices. In the schedule, I have the DKC component that I added to check every 5 minutes. There are no components listed for RAID GROUP. Why? I added all the PORT components and set the frequency to 5 minutes for all these components (not staggered). Back in Grid Display, I see only 2 RAID Groups availble - these are the ones that the command devices are on. How can I get all the raid groups to be visible?
The 2nd problem is that the other host in the other datacenter will not collect configuration data for the array there. Array View for the array just shows the correct model and serial number but nothing (00.00.00) for microcode and rmlib versions, and the dkc/raid group/port time is all dec 31 1969 7:00:00pm. I have uninstalled the agent, removed the host from the list, rebooted the host, reinstalled the agent and it shows up again in the Host Information tab and its command devices show up in Data Collection Configuration. I created a Configuration Collection using In Band against one of the command devices and have waited quite a while but it doesn't seem to collect it.
Where can I look (logs) to troubleshoot these issues?

Re: Performance Advisor 3.4 new install - no raid groups and nothing from one array
I don't know if you are doing this, but you are not supposed to run the PAXP Mgmt Server and th e PAXP Host Agent on the same server with PAXP 3.4. HP says that it may work, but they reccommend separate servers.
When I last installed PAXP 3.4 (yeah, it wasn't the first time), I used the Windows GUID method for the Host Agent Command Devices. Try this.
Make sure that you don't configure the collection schedule until the configuration data gathering has completed. Look for corresponding start and end collection events in the event log.
I had the same issue as your problem #2, but I cannot recall the solution. On the HA server, search for any recently updated file under Program Files\Performance Advisor. The HA log files should be among these file.
