when i run nsshow command i do not see portsym and nodesymb for many devices which does not really help in identifying the devices so easily
Can somebody suggest how do I add or edit them?

Solution
That is a feature (or not) of the device (e.g. storage array) or operating system's device driver. As an end-user you have no chance (except if you have access to the device driver source and know how to enhance it).
I recommend that you have good documentation. Another 'trick' I use is to create 'obvious' (well, to me at least ;-) WWN alias names for the zone members. Then I use "nsaliasshow" - see attachment.
(Anybody: don't bother making comments about the old adapter firmware revision - I've picked an old example from 2004 ;-)
