Which operating system should be used when presenting a lun to a red hat linux 4 host?

In 3.xxx firmware you must use Solaris, as there's no Linux option.

in 3110 it is Linux host type. BTW it is highly recommended to upgrade to this firmware, because the 3.028 was innactivated in March 2008

When I choose solaris the host cannot see the Lun.

Host type for Linux
For smooth system operation, set the host type for Linux to Sun Solaris, except in a LifeKeeper Cluster.

only one additional question, are they physical or virtual RH servers pls? (because if it is Linux VMware ESX server, then the host type should be set manualy as custom=000000002200282E) in the 3.110 controller firmware
