Replication Solutions Manager Help
Hi there
We have an EVA5000 in windows 2003. We want to use snapshots in our live environment and have a 2TB business copy license. We used to have business copy installed on our SMA but since a firmware upgrade to code V3028 we have not reinstalled it on the SMA.
My questions are:
Does Business copy still exist as a single product or is it now part of RSM?
How do we install RSM/business copy onto the SMA? Is it a simple process?
Do we need to purchase additional licenses for the use of RSM? We have a 2TB license for BC but will this suffice when using RSM?
I can't find any installation or setup info on RSM only day to day admin operations guide so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Many thanks
Tony

Re: Replication Solutions Manager Help
Tony:
RSM is simply a GUI that allows you to control your replication sets, DR groups, enabled hosts, etc. There is no license needed to run RSM. The licensed features that allow RSM to be usable are on the EVA themselves. Your 2TB BC license is all that is needed. It gets entered through Command View.
Business copy is currently at 3.2, which equated to RSM 2.0 (I believe). You can download RSM and related agents/jre server/etc straight from HP's website...

The installation process is prety straight forward. It installs like any regular application, NOT like a SAN Appliance Application/tool (swp file).

Re: Replication Solutions Manager Help
Thanks Steven. Do I then need to install Business copy on the management appliance before installing RSM or is business copy included in the product? If so, where do i get recent versions of BC?
