RUN FRUTIL

This is used to replace anything/everything on/in the HSG80.

I believe that the first question it asks you is if you replaced the battery during downtime. If you reply yes to this, it will reset the time.

Or. Shutdown/reboot the controllers and then run FRUTIL.

Oh yea... If you actually replace the expired batteries, FRUTIL sets the new experation date for you when you are finished.

Re: reset of cache battery time on HSG80

By the way - don't reset the time without replacing the batteries. It's tempting - but I wouldn't do it. These batteries expire for good reason - they can only handle so many charge/discharge cycles - and the expiration feature helps you manage this...

If I may add, if you are getting performance problems due to write-caching and flat battery issues (if you have one) you might want to carefully consider SET THIS UPS= i.e. tell it you do have a decent UPS and not to fiddle with the write cache. Like I said carefully consider the implications. The controllers do complain they need a restart on the cli but they won't do it automatically.
