RX1620 fails to boot on one out of 4 bootpaths to san disk
Hi,
We have installed an RX1620, with two fibre cards that attach via cisco switches to our EVA5000. The server runs HPUX 11.23 V2 and securepath. The server will boot successfully down 3 of the defined bootpaths but fails constantly on the fourth.
Card 1 Disk on HSV A System Boots
Card 1 Disk on HSV B System Boots
Card 2 Disk on HSV A System Boots
Card 2 Disk on HSV B System Crashes on booting
When the system has booted via any of the working paths we can use securepath to force the server to perform all its I/O down the path that fails during boot and the server continues to operate normally. This I believe eliminates any hardware faults.
Has anyone seen a similar problem, or can suggest how to diagnose the problem further.
Ronnie

Re: RX1620 fails to boot on one out of 4 bootpaths to san disk
Ronnie,
What point in the boot do you get to? We are currently experiencing a similar problem on a rx4640 with an EMC DMX disk array...
What are the last messages during the boot process before it fails?
Thx
Duncan

Duncan,
See the attached file for a log of the boot process.
