San Surfer statistics screen explanation please
When I am running the San Surfer statistics tab to monitor the hba port of the fiber cards I see abbreviations for the following items. Some are self explanitory but I would like to know what is the max for each monitor. What is worse case etc.
BPS?
IOPS? 100,000 max?
I/O Count? 2 million + average?

Re: San Surfer statistics screen explanation please
Hi,
(the qlogic forums link is here:
http://solutions.qlogic.com/KanisaSupportSite/forum/forumshome.do
the effective max depends on many factors
1. IOPS (random IO) - most of the prod apps
a) SANBlade QME2462 has 150 000 iops per port
b) storage environment e.g. HP:
EVA 8000/8100 -> 50 000/ 60 000 disk IOPS
200 000/225 000 cache IOPS
XP 12000/24000->132 000/160 000 disk IOPS
2 100 000/3 350 000 cache IOPS
2. Throughput (sequential IO)
BPS (bytes per second)

the pain is one part of the reality
