I upgraded two Compaq SAN Switches 1/8 to Firmware rev v2.6.2D, I am able to log in via telnet, using admin, I can connect to the switch and launch the GUI, I can view the switch, But when I try to log on to say switch admin I get a Java certificate logon error, and I am uable to log in, (again telnet is OK for login), My java is updated on my laptop.
Are there new security features for the browser?

SolutionI have had java issues with older SAN switches in the past. One of the things I have tried to get back in is try a workstation with an older version of java.. 1.3.1 lets say, which should work just fine, theoretically.
You can try installing the older version on your laptop as well.. Sometimes the different versions work well together, sometimes they dont.
My question to you is.... you wouldn't happen to live in CT would you? If so, then HIYA!!!

Re: SAN Switch unable to log on via GUI, Telnet OK.
Thanks for you help. I found that the newest Java is not totally backwards compatable with the older switches (even if they have the newest firmware). After I loaded an older version of Java onto another server I could log into that switch GUI. (none of the other acounts worked eather). When I upgraded that servers java to a higher version, I then was locked out again! I removed the updated java, reinstalled the older version java and I could connect again. This also means I couldn't connect to newer 2gig switches on the site without a java upgrade.
Thanks again.
