Re: Secure Path EVA 3000 & Windows Server 2008 DataCenter
VCS - Virtual Controller Software (the code that runs on the EVA).
OCP - Operator Control Panel. (the display on the front of the EVA).
In order to support Windows 2008, you need to be running VCS 4.x.
You will also need to be using the relevant MPIO software rather than SecurePath.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Secure Path EVA 3000 & Windows Server 2008 DataCenter
a) the VCS is the the acronym to the Virtual Controller Software (used in EVA 3000/5000), and Windows 2008 is supported only on the Active/Active firmware (VCS 4.100). The Active/Passive controller firmwares up to the 3.110 are not supported for w2k8
b) in line with this, Secure Path is not usable here and you need the MPIO full featured DSM v3.00.00

Re: Secure Path EVA 3000 & Windows Server 2008 DataCenter
You are running VCS 3.028
You will first need to schedule an upgrade in order to use on Windows 2008.
Second, as stated... you would use MPIO instead of Secure Path for multipath support.

Re: Secure Path EVA 3000 & Windows Server 2008 DataCenter
you must do both upgrades in this order
first upgrade the EVA 3000 VCS to 4.100
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01278980/c01278980.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
then upgrade then the best is uninstalling the Secure Path and installing the MPIO FF DSM 3.00.00
