Re: SMA II vs. HSG80
I upgraded the SMA from 1.x to 2.0sp4 and installed all Microsoft updates as recommended by HP. (We never updated the SMA before). Then it could no longer identify our Storage system.
So I ordered the 2.1 package and inserted the SMA II Quickrestore CD, wich after booting could not identify the SMA as a SMA. I installed this manually and that worked ok, but...
We use 8.6f on the HSG80's and therefore probably cannot locate any part of our susbsystem due to the 2.1 version on the SMA.
1. Can we backrev to an older version?
2. If so, How?

Re: SMA II vs. HSG80
Check the main page whether you have enabled the 'Automanage' feature or go to [Options] and choose [Run Discovery]. Be patient - it can take quite some time until the storage system(s) are discovered.

Re: SMA II vs. HSG80
It has ran a discovery (i can select discovery again) and the HSG Network is green, but the subsystem is orange/yellowish with a questionmark.
The controllers image has a red X through it.
This is what the controller properties page ;looks like.
Identification for: ZG10602131_ZG10601639
Controller: Type Serial Number SCSI Add.
Top: UNKNOWN
Bottom: ZG10601639:UNDEFINED -1
On the Host port properties I see on the Bottom controller all queries have failed.
There is no connection to the Top controller currently attached.

Re: SMA II vs. HSG80
it takes quite some time until everything has been discovered. Can you see the other elements (disks, units, connections) on the storage system, yet? Does the SMA have connection to both controllers? I don't know what version 1 you ran, but the SMA can now use both fibre channel adapters for connection.
How familiar are you with the HSG's CLI? Can you send a 'SHOW THIS_CONTROLLER FULL' and 'SHOW OTHER_CONTROLLER FULL' to make sure there is no error?
BTW, thanks for your generosity, it is really appreciated ;-)
