Storage on MSA1000

hi,

I got 1 server connected to MSA1000 with cluster environment. There is 5 hardisk already configure with raid5, 1 LUN(V drive). Total size are 550gb, but only 150gb format with ntfs.

My question is,
1. Can i expend the size hardisk(V drive)? How can i do that?
2. That is any effected on cluster.

Thank you.

Re: Storage on MSA1000

Helmi,

If you are running win 2003 then please have a look at my reply in this thread:

As you do not need to expand your LUN underlying hardware doesn't matter - it's purely OS issue.

Re: Storage on MSA1000

Just simply follow this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304736&sd=tech

The document explains step by step what you need to do (in 'How to Extend an Existing Drive into Free Space' section)

Re: Storage on MSA1000

Looks like your Running Windows Server 2003...

Just open a dos prompt and run diskpart.exe

In the Diskpart COmmand Shell:

type..

Select Disk 1
Select Partition 1
extend

If you re unsure of the disk... type

LIST DISK

Find the disk number with the total of 550GB of space...

SELECT DISK
SELECT PARTITION 1
EXTEND
EXIT

Takes about 4 seconds if you type slow.

The MS doc reads the same.. but this is the quick version.
