Switch model Information

How can I get the model information for Brocade and Cisco Switches?

I've tried http://ipaddressofswitch/SwitchInfo.html for the Brocades. And this doesn't list the model.

Logged onto the Web interface for the Brocades and the Device Manger for the Cisco's. Can't find the model.

As well the models are not physically on the switches.

So how can I get the model information?

Cheers

Re: Switch model Information

Hi, for Brocades you can try the chassisname and for Ciscos you can try the show hardware commands

Re: Switch model Information

Forgot to mention. I don't have the go ahead yet to run any of the tools out there that can report on the SAN environment.

So I have to determine the model either by the web interfaces of the switches, logging directly into the switch or hopefully there's a web link out there to some sort of matrix where I can take information I do have and look up the model.

Cheers

Re: Switch model Information

Thank you IBaltay

show hardware worked for the Cisco.

chassisname didn't work for the Brocade.

But it made me look and I found "chassisshow" which has a Part Number field which is the external vendor supplied part number.

Cheers!
