Switch VA7400 to fabric

I was checking on some errors and ran a health check on my brocade switches. Looks like the tape library, my 2 N-classes and my L-class are all in Fabric mode. The array is in private loop.

I'm seeing some crc errors from the tape library and wondered if switching the VA to fabric will help speed up backup, increase performance and possibly clear up these errors.

If so, the steps I'm thinking are:

Backup array
vgexport volume groups
change the array to fabric thru SDM
vgimport

Is this correct?

thanks
Syl

Re: Switch VA7400 to fabric

I've attached a viso diagram. The P2's are the controllers to my VA. All the other connections to the brocades, with the exception of the tape drive are my HP-UX hosts.

Re: Switch VA7400 to fabric

Connection is OK.
Try :
1. Change FC cable to another port at Switch (change FC cable of Tape LiB, Or VA)
2. Check again
