Tape Unit Error during DP Backup session .....

Hi,

We get the attached error one tape unit (always in the same tape unit) during a DP backup session. Some times all file systems are backed up even though one Media Agent ends with error & other times not all file systems are backed up.

Kindly suggest what is causing this error & how to fix the problem.

When we got similar errors on HPUX servers we had faulty tape drives.

You can check the /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log or cstm for errors. Or test the drive with ltt but we had to wait for an engineer site to swap drives out of a MSL6060 tape library.

As suggested by MRSG, I also feel its a problem with tape unit. I have suggested the engineer to test the tape unit extensively & if he also finds problems with tape unit then he must replace it with a new tape unit.
