Unknown event on SMA

We have received literally thousands of these since a firmware update to an EVA 5000. The EVA seems OK -- no errors, updates complete. What is the true source of this event, and what does it mean?

Type: ManagementAppliance
Sub-Type: hp OpenView storage management appliance
Source:
Severity: Unknown
Category: Event
TimeStamp: 2/8/2009 2:37:42 PM
Event Code: 880A02BC

Event Detail: Received a SNMP Trap from . The enterprise OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.151.101, GenericTrap is 6, SpecificTrap is 1.

Re: Unknown event on SMA

When you update the VCS you must also update the "parse file" for decoding the events. I am not sure thats the problem here.

What version of VCS is now on your EVA?

Re: Unknown event on SMA

Here you go. Extract and use the "Get Parse File" tab from the View Events/Controller Event Log/Controller Events tab on the EVA to import the file. You will also have to go to the System Options/Configure Events tab and check the new events that have been added by the parse file to get accurate decoding of the new events for SNMP etc.

Hopefully this will solve it.

Re: Unknown event on SMA

When the Storage Management Appliance receives a trap from an unsupported
device, the SMA generates an event (event code 880A02BC; severity -
Information), which includes the basic trap information plus the date and time. A
Storage Management Appliance Administrator can then enable notifications of
this event type.

And it's the button "Send parse file" to add the hsv110_event_sr0025_3110.txt (attached) so the appliance can interpret the events.
