Unsupported Drives Error - EVA P6000
Hello Everyone,
I have a HP P6350 controller that is connected to a storageworks D2600 disk enclosure. The enclosure appears in my command view software, but when I try to initialize the disks, it says "Error, drive is unsupported." and all of the drives light up amber.
The controllers are both HSV340 controllers connected via Mini-SAS to the disk enclosure. These controllers are running firmware: 11001100. The drives are all MB2000FBZPN running the latest firmware. They all appear OK and operational before initializing, but display a failed state when attempting to initialize. These drives have been tested and working on other systems.
There are no further errors that the system gives me, so I am a little stuck here. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie

Re: Unsupported Drives Error - EVA P6000
Even they look the same, drives for EVA (P6000) and servers are not interchangeable.
P6000 drives are different, they have different firmware. So you cannot use server disks with a P6000.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Unsupported Drives Error - EVA P6000
Hello,
a D2600 disk enclosure is not supported behind an EVA Controller. You need a M6612 enclosure for the P6350 Controller.
The backend looks the same. Please check also the partnumbers of the drives.
Only these drives are supported:
HP M6612 450GB 6G SAS 15K 3.5-inch HDD AP871A
HP M6612 600GB 6G SAS 15K 3.5-inch HDD AP872A
HP M6612 2TB 6G SAS 7.2K 3.5-inch HDD AW590A
HP M6612 3TB 6G SAS 7.2K 3.5-inch HDD (requires XCS 11001000 or later controller firmware) QR479A
HP M6612 4TB 6G SAS 7.2K 3.5-inch HDD (requires XCS 11001000 or later controller firmware) C8R31A

Re: Unsupported Drives Error - EVA P6000
What controller would support these drives and this enclosure to create a SAN?
