Upgrading Brocaade 6.0 firmware question
I upgraded my Brocade switches from 5.1* to 5.3.0b, then tried to upgrade from 5.3.0b to 6.0.0b. The upgrade failed with following message.
tsw51:admin> firmwaredownload
Server Name or IP Address: 192.168.150.81
User Name: anonymous
File Name: v5.3.0a
Network Protocol(1-auto-select, 2-FTP, 3-SCP) [1]: 2
Password:
Checking system settings for firmwaredownload...
Protocol selected: FTP
Trying address-->AF_INET IP: 192.168.150.81, flags : 2
Accessing network timeout.
The server is inaccessible or firmware path is invalid. Please make sure the ser
ver name or IP address, the user/password and the firmware path are valid. If SC
P is selected, SSH server must support password authentication.

I know my ftp server is working and the path is ok because I upgraded to 5.3 without any issues? I tired using release.plist and without relase.plist, and go the same results.
Thanks in advance

Re: Upgrading Brocaade 6.0 firmware question
If the path is correct, check to ensure that the ftp login account has permission to access the files.
These are the most common problems I run into when the FTP server is working correctly.

Re: Upgrading Brocaade 6.0 firmware question
You say you're trying to update to 6.0.0b but the output you pasted shows that you were looking for v5.3.0a.
If that was just a typo, then check the logs on your FTP server to see if there are any clues there.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Upgrading Brocaade 6.0 firmware question
Did you get an answer to this issue?
I've got the same situation where I've upgraded a 48k from 5.0.3 to 5.3.0, then tried to upgrade from 5.3.0 to 6.0.1.
I get exactly the same message...it looks like the upgrade has a timeout after 30 seconds.
If you have resolved your problem, can you share the solution?
Thanks

Re: Upgrading Brocaade 6.0 firmware question
here must by the line "File Name:"follow:
/FTP_Folder/release.plist
example:
/v5.3.0a/release.plist
