There is one SMA server on Win 2000 OS.We have EVA Command View Version: 6.0.2.37 at present. I heard that CV 9.2 is the latest version supported.
Is this new CV 9.2 version supported for EVA 3000 HSV type 100 VCS 3.028 on Win 2000 OS?
Any compatibility matrix doc would help us really.
Adv thanks.

SolutionThen format that SMA (they are no longer supported), and install Windows 2003/2008 and Command View 9.2 on it.

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Lot of links above.I'm sorry to ask some silly Qs.
1)What does G1,G2,G3 mean under SMA?
2)Can Win 2000 OS support VCS 3.110 and CV EVA suite 7 and above? (Mainly confused here)
3)After controller is upgraded it is suggested to upgrade disk firmware as well. I tried downloading the Disk Bunddled image but the link doesn't work
Cheers,
Kites

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Also, EVA disk firmware should be done before you update your EVA controller firmware.
And try this link for the disk firmware.

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Sorry the link above for disk bundle is same that I tried before, unfortunately it doesnt work.
Adding more to the above. I just read that VCS 3.028 can be directly upgraded to VCS 4.110 and is offline process, but still requires SMA to run on WIn 2003 flavor. Please see the link below
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01608153/c01608153.pdf
Can I get this version of VCS 4.100,please?
Thanks,
Kites

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Each one has it's complications and compatibilities. Think about it.
There's no need to update to 4.100 unless you have some operating system or requeriment that needs it.

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Those are just the "Generation Numbers". The G1 was a white-colored DL380 and is very slow by today's standards. The G2 was a more modern DL380 and the G3 a 1U height DL360.

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
For a decision which version to go it is best if you have a table with your current servers and operating system (and other software) versions and expand it which way you want (or have) to go.
No matter which version you go, you need such an overview anyway, because there is a high change that you have to make updates to your servers software (for example: Secure Path or the basic MPIO if you are using Windows) anyway, even if you go to VCS V3.110

Re: Upgrading CV EVA versions
Option 1
........
*Win 2000 OS with HBA driver ver 9.1.3.11(latest and supported after performing HBA driver upgrade)
*Win 2003 OS with HBA driver ver 9.1.7.17(latest and supported after performing HBA driver upgrade)
*switch fw 3.2.1c
*CV EVA 6.0.2.37
Option 2
........
*Win 2003 OS with HBA driver ver 9.1.7.17(latest and supported after performing HBA driver upgrade) ├в SMA server upgraded to Win 2003 OS.
*switch fw 3.2.1c
*CV EVA 9.2 latest(license needed)
I want to know if one of the above options if chosen, will work, after upgraded?
Many Thanks.
