Solution
If anyone is likely to be difficult about this, it will be EMC - I would check with them from a 'supported config' perspective. As to whether technically you can do this, of course you can. However I would make sure that the VA and CLARiiON are in different zones, even if they are accessed by the same servers.

Re: VA7410 and EMC on same switch
I would check the support matrix of the switch , whether VA7410 is supported or not . If it is then I don't see why it cannot be done .
And for simplicity and easier management , keep the storage ports on the VA and clarion in different zones even though they are attached to the same windows server's HBA .

Re: VA7410 and EMC on same switch
Neither EMC nor HP fully support concurrent access from one server through the very same HBA of a Windows server.
If you decide to do it anyway, note this.
1. Ensure you are using HBA and driver versions that are supported from both vendors, HP and EMC for the respective array.
2. You will not be able to use multipathing software for both arrays (PowerPath for EMC and Auto Path or Secure Path for HP) because they are incompatible. So for NT and W2k you can only go for a single path solution!
With Windows 2003 you will be able to use multipathing thanks to MPIO support.
Good luck
