Re: Validation of Fibre channel card failed
Frantisek,
It would appear that the A5158A adapters on both servers connected to the SAN have identified the same problem. Identifying the problem would depend on how FC60 arrays you have in the SAN. I would suggest that you first run SAM on the servers in question from your local workstation and export the DISPLAY variable to get the GUI on your workstation. Then go into the Disk and File system menu, hopefully you should see the hardware paths of your "HP FC60 Disk Array Controllers x". Select the controller(s) in question and you should get a menu showing any array warnings, you should then be able to then "drill down" into what the problem might be.
You may have lost a controller or something similar.
This might help.
Simon.

Re: Validation of Fibre channel card failed
Hi,
Try utilising the 'fsmsutil' program.
From your ioscan identify your card:
/dev/td0 and /dev/td1
/opt/fcms/bin/fcmsutil /dev/td0
Have a look at the man page for
'fcmsutil' for additional options.
It is unlikely that all of the FC
cards are no good, but perhaps some
connectivity problem. An 'ioscan -fn'
may also help. See what the status of
the drives are: NO_HW, or CLAIMED.
Cheers

Re: Validation of Fibre channel card failed
Hi Frantisek,
Are all these devices connected through a switch or hub?
Was the L1000 and /or the two adapters new to this configuration or have they been there prior to this error? If they are new, are all the latest driver'S and patches installed?
Has anything changed i.e any new hardware added or removed?
Can you see all the HDD's down all paths with an ioscan?
Hope these questions help point in the right direction.
