VCS 3.014 improvements

Just though you lot might like some of the info I got from HP recently pertaining to the VCS upgrade due end of this month/ April...

1.) Improved handling of mirror cache flush druing controller failover
2.) Several improvements to log code have been made to improve servicability of the array. Extra codes are added to provide additional granularity in the logs, and descriptions are changed to improve readability and understanding
3.)A new flag was added to distinguish power supply types of the HSV110
4.) Change in EMU code involving the sensitivity of the spindle motor speed
5.) Enhancement has beenadded while in Continous Access (CA) mode

Andy,
did they say anything about improvements to CV-EVA and/or SSSU?

Re: VCS 3.014 improvements

Yes, please.

I am interested in two things:

- the ability to do an agent ownership transfer to another Storage Management Appliance through SSSU

- the ability to create a physical map of the disk drives on my own

I do a lot of remote assistance and I want to be able to ask the customer to get a report and send it to me so I can check how the disk groups are physically organized in the disk drive enclosures.

Please, I don't want to hear how great the EVA does tune itself so that I should not attempt any 'micro-management'.

Uwe, I've had a response to your questions :

"Just to confirm that the features you mention below will not be affected
by the release of 3.014. If you have any further questions please don't
hesitate to ask."

.... Take it easy,
